Summer Goals!

Happy Memorial Day!! I know some of you are out of school already and Memorial Day signifies the beginning of summer.  .  . 8 more school days here!!! (But who's counting?) My Canadian bloggy buddy, Monica at I Heart Grade 3, is hosting a weekly summer linky party every Monday. (It's still May, but I'm getting in the spirit of things!)

However, before thinking about summer, today is an important holiday in American history; a day to remember all those who have served our country and died. My Girl Scout troop and I began the weekend with hundreds of other Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts: placing over 10,000 flags at our local Veterans Memorial Cemetery. What a powerful reminder of the bravery and dedication of these men and women.
Goals for summer?
RELAX!! This includes renewing my yoga practice, READING (I have a stack of books waiting for me & my Kindle library is full!!), hanging out with my youngest daughter (bike riding, roller blading, beach days), lots of girlfriend time (hikes, lunches & spa days), and a couple mini family vacations, then Costa Rica with my hubby!! SOOOOO excited!!
Spend some dedicated time on my teaching materials: updating TpT products, organizing my units with my materials. I'm sure like most of you, I have waaaaay too many supplemental materials (& they're all so good!!) but with the ease of downloading new products from TpT, I can't even keep straight what I have any more! So. . . my goal is to come up with an organization plan so I know what I have & then I can decide what to use & when! I also have so many half-finished products of my own because I've been using things I've created with my class and taking notes how to revise, but now I need to make them look store-ready! And I'm beyond excited about the TpT conference in Vegas this July!! I can't wait to meet so many other amazing teachers & to learn more about improving my business!!
Scrapbooking!! I have way too many pictures to get into our family scrapbooks. (Although I have been much more current with digital scrapbooking trips & events!!)

Almost there. . .

  1. Hi Kathy!

I am so happy that you have been able to participate in my very first linky party! It's great to have you a part of this blogging adventure!

We will definitely have to find a way to meet up at the conference in Vegas. Are you going to any of the blogger meet-ups before the conference starts?

Thanks again for taking part! I hope you'll link up more throughout the summer! I'd love to see some pictures of your Costa Rica trip!!!

    Take care,

    Monica

  2. Hi I found your blog through the link-up!

I really should have put scrapbooking on my list too! I tend to buy and buy and buy supplies and then get the time to use them. I love digital scrapbooking but there is something nostalgic about creating a physical scrapbook. Plus I look forward to sharing these years with my future children.
Best of luck on meeting all your summer goals!

    1. I agree, Kayla! There's just something about holding the physical scrapbook & mementos in your hands! But I sure do love the ease of digital!! Thanks for stopping by!!
