Listening: I love that my hubby is so musical; he writes his own music, plays the guitar (why does he need 7 or 8 guitars???), banjo, drums, and piano/keyboard. He always looks so happy and peaceful when he's playing and I'm in awe of his talent. (I took guitar and piano for YEARS and my piano teachers always made me play with a metronome. . .you know, that device that ticks to help keep you playing with the right beat. . .)
Loving: We're so happy to have Kayla home from college!! I love having her friends drop in & catching up with them, as well as just hanging out with her!! Becca has missed having her big sister around!
Thinking: I still have so many friends to catch up with during Break! There doesn't seem to be enough days for lunch, coffee and dinner dates!
Wanting: I want to spend time scrapbooking; I'm so far behind!! I love to review events, family, and friends and remember all the good times!!
Needing: This month we're (supposed to be) reading All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. I thought Winter Break would be the perfect time to catch up, but it's been so hectic so far!! I'm taking time this week to finish!
Yes: Healthy eating; I will be more intentional about bringing healthy snacks & lunch to school and have breakfast prepared before trying to rush out the door to get to school! I have a FitBit & need to hit 10,000 steps per day!!
Maybe: I'll get to the garage. . . opening the door is just plain scary. But my goal is to purge, donate, organize, and sell on Craig's List.
I wish: I know there's so much I don't know: Twitter, Tsu, Instagram, Facebook. . .just beginning to learn (I wish Kayla still lived at home because she is so quick on social media!!) My goal is to learn!

Good luck with your new year goals - I got a fitbit for Christmas and am nowhere near 10,000 steps - hopefully when I'm back at school it will be easier to get there! Happy New Year!

Good luck to you on 10,000 steps/day, too!! It seems that I never sit while at school, so that should help! :)
DeleteHi Kathie~
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I got my husband a fitbit for Christmas. He easily makes 10,000 steps a day and so I figure I must as well, chasing after my 3 year old helps! I'm hoping to get one on my shopping trip back to the US soon. I'm also in a book club. I'll take a look at the book you're reading. I haven't heard of it. We read Wild for our November meeting. We didn't meet in December. We are reading Serena for our upcoming January meeting. For February we are reading The 13th Tale. We have to pick our books ahead of time since not all of us read on Kindles. Some of us order from Amazon and since we're in the Bahmas, it can take 2 weeks for orders to arrive. Wild made for good discussions since some of the group are runners and some are hikers. Serena is also going to provide good discussions too. I also played piano growing up. I even took piano in college. I left it behind in storage though while we are in the Bahamas. I'm looking forward to getting settled again in the US next year and playing again.
Joya :)
We read Wild for our Book Club, too! I've added Serena & The 13th Tale to my "to read" list on Goodreads now!! Thanks! Would love to hear more about life in the Bahamas; what a wonderful experience!! Best to you!
DeleteI have been wondering about the success of a fitbit, one of my friends recently got one and I am intrigued by how it works and all the information you can gain from having one. Good luck and I hope you reach your goal!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jennifer!! The Fitbit does motivate me to move more at the end of the day, if I'm not near 10,000. And having competitive friends also on it helps because they can send you messages! Thanks for stopping by!
