Technology Thursday: Padlet On-line Wall

It's time for Technology Thursday, a linky party focusing on all things technology! This is the 1st Thursday of the month, so I'm sharing a website that's student-friendly.
My students love to give their opinion (on everything, at all times!!) A great website to allow students to respond to a question, give their opinion, add pictures, links or videos to support their statements. Teachers have ultimate control: approving whether or not a post is appropriate or not. (And I've told my students that if the spelling or punctuation makes their post incomprehensible, I will not approve) Students can reply to each other's posts, which gives them much more incentive to think about what they want to say in a thoughtful manner.

Check out this Padlet from a former class: http://padlet.com/mrs_yonemura/room9ocr1
How can YOU use a collaborative board?

Thanks to Teaching Trio for hosting this link!

  1. I will have to check out this site. If this works well with your students, you should also try Today's Meet. It is an online chatroom platform where you can set up your own room for students to enter and discuss in (with no character limits). Similar to this students can copy paste links to other resources to support their responses.

I've also had my students create a Padlet for a presentation. My third graders had to embed a link, have so many pictures and info. Padlet was a easy way to "dive" into tech without a lot of teaching the tech before hand. Padlet rocks!

  4. Teaching French, I love using Padlet as it's a great way for children to express ideas & opinions on various topics. They must come up with a different opinion from those already posted to encourage them to be creative in their responses!
